At Progressive Pathways Behaviour & Disability Services, we offer inclusive Riding Lessons for individuals of all ages and abilities. Our program combines skill-building, horsemanship education, and the powerful connection between horse and rider to promote confidence, independence, and personal achievement.

Whether for children, youth, adults, or seniors, our lessons are adapted to each rider’s comfort and goals. We provide a safe and supportive environment where every rider can progress at their own pace, from first-time beginners to experienced riders seeking to advance their skills. Adaptive equipment and individualized teaching methods ensure accessibility for riders with diverse physical, developmental, cognitive, or sensory needs.

Chance Burles

Chance is a Canadian Forces veteran and co-host of The Collective, a podcast focused on resilience, confidence, and purposeful living. His journey has taken him from military service in Afghanistan to a new mission—helping others build trust, skills, and self-belief through the transformative world of horsemanship.

As a certified riding instructor and Equine Facilitator, Chance blends professional training, lived experience, and a deep respect for the horse-human partnership. He teaches riders to communicate with clarity, presence, and confidence—qualities strengthened through his military service and personal healing journey.

His riding lessons are designed for individuals of all ages and skill levels, from first-time riders to those seeking to advance their technique. With a supportive and patient teaching style, Chance focuses on developing strong foundations: balance, communication, groundwork, safety, and connection with the horse.

Every rider is welcomed as they are. Chance’s trauma-informed approach ensures a calm, empowering environment for those living with anxiety, PTSD, first responder stress, or other challenges. He understands the courage it takes to grow—and creates a space where riders can do so at their own pace.

Grounded in integrity, empathy, and mentorship, Chance helps riders develop not only their horsemanship skills but also confidence, independence, and resilience—both in and out of the saddle.

Chance offers riding lessons near Devon, Alberta, with flexible options for beginners, recreational riders, and those curious about the healing connection horses provide.

Maple is a kind and steady mare who brings warmth and reassurance to every interaction. With her soft eyes, calm demeanour, and patient nature, she is an excellent match for riders who are building confidence or exploring the joy of horses for the first time.

She is thoughtful and intuitive, always tuning in to the person beside her. Maple enjoys taking things at a comfortable pace, making her a wonderful partner for individuals who benefit from extra support, emotional grounding, or a quiet, steady ride.

Whether she’s helping a new rider learn balance and communication or participating in groundwork and horsemanship lessons, Maple creates a safe space where trust can grow — one step at a time.
